Usability and accessibility training

Our training room User Vision consultants have a wealth of experience testing and improving websites, software and products. In our training courses we draw on all our experience and share our expert knowledge with you.

Equipping you and your colleagues with a solid grounding in user centred design techniques ensures that your project team keeps firmly focused on the user and understand the most appropriate methods to apply at particular points in the development life cycle. The in-house knowledge you gain reduces development time by building usability and accessibility into the project from the start and throughout the lifecycle, so that considerably fewer revisions are needed.

We have trained directors, managers, designers, content contributors, developers, consultants and volunteers! Organisations that have benefited from our training include the Royal Bank of Scotland, Historic Scotland, the Department of Trade and Industry, Scottish Enterprise, the House of Commons and HSBC.

Our training programmes

We offer both private and public training courses covering a wide range of user experience areas.

Our courses are flexible and can be tailored to your company’s:

  • usability/accessibility experience
  • sector
  • specific project needs
  • budget and time demands

From your detailed requirements we can provide a training solution that incorporates examples and case studies from your current projects into a customised course. By using your specific information to illustrate usability and accessibility principles, we bring together the training with your actual project and business goals.

Our courses are highly participative, with group activities and workshops to give participants immediate, hands-on experience of user-centred design. All delegates receive a training manual with copies of the slides, forms to use in applying usability and/or accessibility methods, and resources for additional information.

I was very much impressed with the course and have been able to tidy up some of my work practices inline with the processes outlined in the course so it was certainly a very worthwhile course.

Business Technology Information Manager, Scottish Parliament

I found the event most enjoyable, interesting and, most importantly, informative; mainly due to the style of delivery and willingness to answer, competently and honestly, questions from the floor. I attend quite a few workshops/courses each year and this has to be up there with the best.
