User Vision opens state of the art usability lab, focus group and training facility to meet growing demand for consultancy services
Edinburgh-based usability consultancy User Vision this week opened a new state of the art usability research lab, focus group and training facility at its new home in North Castle Street, Edinburgh.
Under the banner ‘User Vision focus’, the new facility has been set up to meet growing demand from clients for both the company’s usability consultancy and training services. User Vision currently employs seven usability consultants and has recently won several new clients including O2, Kingston Communications, Scottish Enterprise and SEERAD (Scottish Executive Environmental & Rural Affairs Department).
User Vision’s new premises offer two state of the art usability testing labs and one focus group room for market research, offering direct observation either via a one-way mirror or remotely via the internet. Additionally the new facility offers a 25-seater training room and the ability to provide digital and VHS recordings of all focus group and usability testing sessions.
As well as growing its traditional business of usability and accessibility testing for web sites, User Vision is also attracting an increasing demand for usability testing from manufacturers of non-internet products including mobile phones, cash machines and computer keyboards. As a result the company will shortly be welcoming a new consultant specialising in non-internet products to its team.
Chris Rourke, Director of User Vision comments: “Moving to our new premises marks the beginning of a very exciting time for both User Vision and our clients. We can now offer state of the art research facilities to clients old and new, as well as expanding our own range of consultancy services. Usability is becoming an increasingly important consideration for many companies, and we’re pleased to be at the forefront in this area in both Scotland and across the UK.’
User Vision can now be found at 55 North Castle Street, Edinburgh, EH2 3QA; Tel: 0131 225 0850. The company will be holding several events in Edinburgh on 3rd November 2005 as part of World Usability Day.
