Accessibility Beyond the Guidelines - lessons from testing with disabled users.

Location: User Vision, 55 North Castle Street, Edinburgh EH2 3QA
Date: 15 June 2009
Time: 8.00am - 9.30am
Cost: FREE

Please join us for coffee and breakfast at our office in Edinburgh and hear a presentation about web accessibility. Our speaker, Mark Palmer is a passionate advocate for accessibility and web standards and will give a talk on the benefits of testing with disabled users. Join us over a cup of coffee and a croissant, hear about our experience and learn how to spot accessibility issues you won't necessarily find in the WCAG guidelines.

We will cover:

  • Recruiting for disabled testing
  • Challenging our understanding of what is really accessible
  • Unusable accessibility
  • Issues not fully identified by the WCAG Guidelines
  • Usability and Accessibility in conflict

We are delighted to announce that we have had a tremendous interest in the Breakfast at User Vision meeting. Due to huge popularity of the event, we will be re-running the event again within the next few moths. However, the second event is already... fully booked! More events will be announced in future.

Look forward to welcoming those of you on Monday!

The ability to see first hand customers' experience on the site and to have User Vision's expertise in filtering and summarizing the learnings was a great benefit.
