The Web Technologies Scotland conference will coverage a range of issues that effect the Scottish public sector.

Chris Rourke has been invited as a guest speaker and the synopsis of his talk is below.

Guidance and guidelines for improved web services

Public sector across the whole UK is being encouraged to deliver services to the citizen via a number of delivery channels and benefit from the cost savings of web-based delivery. But what are the challenges and hurdles that need to be crossed? What guidance is available and what guidelines and legislation need to be adhered to?

  • How will WCAG2.0 affect public sector websites?
  • What are the implications of not meeting guidelines?
